No matter what country or state that you come from, there is one thing that is common amongst the majority of the student body: we are all broke. This has been one of the contributing factors for the college student stereotype of eating instant noodles from a cup. However, the struggle of a shallow wallet is made worse by Clark’s location. To me, one of the best things about Worcester is the fact that it is a gastronomic hub: the city boasts a number of restaurants with cuisine from all over the world. Fully experiencing all the city has to offer is quite difficult when your money is tied up in rent, textbooks you will never use, and all the other expenses that come up. However this is not as difficult as it may seem - many places in the city offer a variety of deals that would help you stretch your dollar.

Added bonus: All of the underlined locations are within Escort range!

Limited Time Offers

Worcester Restaurant Week: Twice a year, a number of restaurants in Worcester make it possible for people to taste different cuisine without breaking the bank. Participating restaurants lower their prices and create a special menu that offers a three course meal (*cue the infomercial music*) for only $24.17. That is right, you heard me, for just under $25, you can experience cuisine from some of the best kitchens in Worcester. The winter edition of this event takes places from Monday, February 27th to Saturday, March 11th. This year more than 40 restaurants will participate in the event including Via, Bocado, Armsby Abbey, Mezcal, and One Eleven Chophouse. More information about the places and menus included in this event, visit the Worcester Restaurant Week Facebook page. For the many students who will not be able to travel to any tropical destinations for Spring Break, this event will be a great way to travel the world on a plate.

There are just a few examples of the amazing deals that Worcester has to offer; many restaurants offer seasonal promotions (Applebees, TGIF, Peppercorn’s etc). A good way to keep track of these is by following the social media pages of your favorite restaurants. Signing up for a Woo Pass is a great way to maximize your discounts. The Woo Pass is a free mobile guide to all things Worcester. You can keep track of these deals on Worcester Massachusetts website. This site also gives you more information on food and Worcester event related deals and is definitely worth the five minutes it would take to sign up!

With a little effort, it possible to make sure to get the most out of your money spent while having a college experience as full as your stomachs can be.
